Description:
The N-1 Deck Jacket from mid-1940s was designed for sailors. Commonly known as a Deck Jacket, the surface was made of abrasion resistant cotton fabric and the interior lining was made of alpaca or wool. The original N-1 was a blue version with US NAVY printed on back and no letters on front. By 1944, the blue version was quickly replaced by khaki and military green instead, followed by the appearance of the second generation of N-1, which removed the lint of the cuffs. The latest edition was the third generation that the US NAVY print at back was replaced with USN on front. Moreover, the armband was also removed when the US Navy ended its dispensation in the early 1960s. The classic fabric of N-1 was restored to the retro cotton twill and the interior was thickened with customized fleece. The overall was stronger and warmer with a solid texture.
